Don Warden, D.V.M.

Dr. Warden grew up on his family’s dairy and beef ranch just outside San Luis Obispo, California.

He attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Science. He graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983.

Dr. Warden practiced in San Diego for several years before returning home to practice with Dr. Evans in 1985. He and his wife, Debbie, have two children-Amber and Ross.


Michael Lyon, D.V.M.

Dr. Lyon grew up on a cattle ranch behind Cayucos, CA. In that environment, he became interested in veterinary medicine, particularly equine and food animal.

He attended California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. He graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in June 2008 with an emphasis in Large Animal Medicine. He has a special interest in Equine Dentistry and Equine Dental Equilibration.

Dr. Lyon moved from Davis to Atascadero and started working for Large Animal Practice in late June 2008. He and his wife, Joyce, have a 13 year old son, Wyatt and a 11 year old daughter, Claire.

Dr. Lyon enjoys horseback riding, calf roping, running and spending time with Joyce, Wyatt and Claire.


 

Gary Evans, D.V.M.

Dr. Evans grew up outside of Morro Bay, California.

He attended undergraduate school and veterinary school at the University of California, Davis and graduated from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1966.

Dr. Evans interned at the University of Minnesota Veterinary School in Large Animal surgery. He returned to California’s Central Coast in 1970 and began practicing with Dr. Dave Wixom until he bought out the large animal portion of Dr. Wixom’s practice in 1973. Dr. Evans and his wife, Jane, have three children-Laura, Kimberly and Brian. They have seven grandchildren.
